VCE General Maths · Units 3&4 · free 15-minute check

Exam-ready,
minus the dread.

The exam's coming either way — the only question is whether you know where you stand. Nim's free Readiness Check maps the exact skills costing you marks in 15 minutes, then builds your daily plan to fix them. Marked by a real maths engine. Never just handed to you.

Parent? Get the honest answer on how ready they are — it takes their 15 minutes, not yours.

step one — get the truth

15 minutes. 20 questions. Your exact weak spots, mapped.

Most students revise what they're already good at — it feels productive and costs you marks. The Readiness Check is 20 exam-style questions across all four VCE General Maths areas — including Exam-2-style scenario sets with connected parts — marked by a real maths engine, not a guessing chatbot. You walk away with:

  • Your Exam Readiness % — one honest number for where you stand today.
  • A skill map — your strongest areas and the ones quietly costing marks, down to the sub-topic.
  • Your first week's plan — exactly what to practise tomorrow, chosen for you.

how it works

Your exam is a season. Nim is your coach.

From today to exam day, every session has a purpose: short daily training, a plan that adapts to your weak skills, and a coach who never lets you coast — or cram.

15 minutes, engine-marked, no sign-up. Get your Readiness % and your skill map — the honest starting line.

Get your season plan

Tell Nim your exam date. He builds your training blocks backwards from the day it counts — foundation, grind, taper.

Get your reps in

Three clean reps a day keeps the streak alive. Stuck? Nim coaches you through it with hints and questions — never just the answer.

Match day, weekly

A timed Exam Sim every week under real conditions. Watch your Readiness % climb toward the real thing.

the game

Practice that pulls you back tomorrow.

Not cartoon rewards — a progression system built for exam students. Everything is earned by getting maths right without help. Nothing is earned by grinding junk.

The streak

Three clean reps a day keeps it burning. Miss a day? You'll have earned a freeze — life happens, momentum shouldn't die with it.

The woodland

Every sub-topic is a grove in Nim's woodland. Master it unaided and it grows back — greener, safer, alive. Your Readiness % is the recovery meter, and it only moves when you actually get better.

The countdown

The season ramps as exam day nears — foundation block, grind block, taper week. Nim changes the training (and the tone) to match the moment.

Exam 1: Fri 30 Oct 2026, 2:00pm. Always confirm on the official VCAA timetable.

Study squads

A private crew of 2–6 mates with one shared weekly goal. Everyone's reps count. No public leaderboards, no strangers — just your people, keeping each other honest.

why it sticks

You're not collecting points. You're bringing a woodland back.

Nim is a numbat — one of Australia's most endangered animals, with only a few thousand left. And for a numbat, survival really is a numbers game. Every clean rep you bank feeds Nim and heals his patch of woodland: more hollow logs, more termites, a colony growing back.

Here's the part worth respecting: this isn't a story we invented. The maths you're practising for your exam is the same maths the people saving real numbats use every day —

Matricespopulation models that predict whether a colony survives
Recursion & financegrowth models for a recovering population
Data analysisradio-collar tracking and survey monitoring
Networkshabitat corridors and safe-route connectivity
Do your maths. Save the numbat.

why Nim is different

Three things nobody else puts together.

A real engine marks every answer

Deterministic maths engines — verified against five years of past VCE papers — check every number and step. Nim can't hallucinate a mark or mismark your work.

AI chatbots guess. Engines know.

A coach, not an answer key

Nim coaches with hints, questions and worked methods — and will not hand over the final answer. That's the point: the rep only counts if it's yours.

Answer apps teach copying. Coaches build ability.

A game built for the exam grind

Streaks, a woodland that grows with your mastery, weekly match days and a squad who notice when you show up. Built for 17-year-olds, not seven-year-olds.

Videos are passive. The reps are the game.
For parents

A real coach for them. A clear answer for you: are they ready?

  • The free check takes their 15 minutes, not yours — and your copy of the report lands by email.
  • Your own dashboard: readiness trend, weak topics in plain English, practice consistency.
  • Nim never hands over answers — so practice is real practice, not copying.
  • Privacy-first: your email, their first name and year level. That's all we ask for.

good questions

Asked by every parent (fair enough).

Is this just another AI chatbot that gets maths wrong?

No — and this is the whole reason Nim exists. Every answer is marked by a deterministic maths engine (real computation, verified against five years of past VCE exam papers), never by a language model guessing. The AI's job is coaching and encouragement; the engine's job is the maths. They never swap roles.

Won't my teen just use it to get the answers?

They can't. Nim is built to never reveal the final answer — he coaches through a ladder of hints, from a nudge to a worked method for a similar problem. The rep only counts when the answer is theirs.

Does it actually follow the VCE course?

Yes — built specifically for VCE General Maths Units 3&4, across all four areas (Data Analysis, Recursion & Financial Modelling, Matrices, Networks). Questions are original, written in the style of the real exams and verified against five years of past papers.

When is Maths Methods coming?

VCE Maths Methods Units 1&2 is in development now, on the same engine-verified system. We're not announcing a date until it meets the same bar as General. Take the free check and you'll be the first to hear when it lands — at no price change to Premium.

A cartoon numbat… for a Year 12 student?

Nim's a coach, not a cartoon. For senior students the experience is streaks, mastery, timed sims and an exam countdown — Nim shows up the way a good coach does: at the wins, the slumps, and the night before the exam. And the woodland isn't a gimmick: population matrices, growth models, tracking data — the maths in Nim's world is the real mathematics of conservation, the same strands you're being examined on.

What about my child's data?

We collect the minimum: a parent email, the student's first name and year level. No public profiles, no open chat, no strangers, no selling data, and no training AI models on your child's work. Built to comply with Australia's Children's Online Privacy Code ahead of its December 2026 start.

We already have a tutor. Do we need this?

Keep the tutor — Nim makes those hours work harder. It's the daily practice layer in between: your tutor sees exactly which skills need attention, and your teen turns up to each lesson with the reps already done. (Tuition centres: we partner — see here.)
